Call for Board and Committee Members!
The East Hants and Districts Chamber of Commerce is made up of a volunteer board of directors and various volunteer committees. Each year new positions become available, and we work to add new professionals to our team who are motivated to help make a positive change for our membership and community.
If you are interested in joining this dynamic and progressive team either as a committee member or a director, and are motivated to help out in our Chamber, please fill out the following Application Form:

As you may be aware, the EHCC was awarded funds for a shop local campaign to help inspire members of East Hants and surrounding areas to take advantage of the wonderful shops and services available right here in our own backyards.
An essential part of the success of this campaign is your participation. Here are a few ways you can get involved, to make this campaign work for you and get maximum exposure for your local business (this will also provide you with a sneak peak into what we’ve got planned)!

2021 Kings-Hants Candidates Forum
The East Hants & Districts Chamber of Commerce and The Laker News will be co-hosting the 2021 Federal Election Kings-Hants Candidates Forum on Thursday, September 9th at 6:30pm. Due to the current health restrictions, this event will be live streamed and will be available for future viewing on You Tube.

UPCOMING ESSENTIAL BUSINESS SKILLS PROGRAMS
EHCC is pleased to offer ten week, 40 hour essential business skills programs to business owners, managers and employees in the East Hants area. These training programs are valued at up to $5,000 and are offered to businesses either free or at a very low cost. Invest your time to learn skills essential for your business. - Essential Productivity Skills with Jeff Ainslie – Every Monday morning for 10 weeks starting September 27th, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm.
- Business Skills for Growth and Profitability with Lynn MacKinnon – Every Tuesday morning for 10 weeks starting September 28th, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm.
- Sage50 Business Cloud with Lynn MacKinnon – Every Tuesday afternoon for 10 weeks starting September 28th, 1:00 – 5:00 pm.
- Developing & Delivering Workshops Online with Debbie Lawrence – Every Wednesday morning for 10 weeks starting September 29th, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm.
- HR Essentials with Debbie Lawrence – Every Wednesday afternoon for 10 weeks starting September 29th, 1:00 – 5:00 pm.
- Google Workspace for Business with Jeff Brown – Every Monday morning for 11 weeks starting September 20th, 8:30 am – 12:00 pm.
- Using Social Media to Build Your Business with Jeff Brown – Every Friday morning for 11 weeks starting September 24th, 8:30 am – 12:00 pm.
The programs will be offered virtually in an online classroom setting in order to comply to the social distancing recommendations. Therefore, the programs must be taken on a computer, laptop, or tablet; phones will not be an acceptable device. Participants must have an Internet connection, hardwired preferred to wi-fi, high speed (no dial up). Headset or earbuds must be used, and the participants must have a webcam, if no camera on their laptop; video participation is a requirement, to ensure the connection to the instructor and other participants. A quiet place to focus is required, free from distractions. These details will be part of the INA process.
